" My child (2yrs 10months) has been going to Mells Muddy Munchkins for about 8 weeks now and we are so glad we found Laura. Our son talks so much about “Lovely Laura” and it is clear from the daily picture updates and his extensive recounts that he is already thriving here. Despite a thorough and successful settling period, my son went through a phase of finding drop offs a little tricky but Laura gave both me and my husband advice on how to handle them as effectively as possible and ensured she accommodated any extra requirements like bringing his favourite toy to show her. With her help and support that phase only lasted a few days. Laura makes every day different, engaging and exciting and ensures she tailors the activities to your child’s interests whilst maximising opportunities for development. My child had never attended another childcare setting before coming to Laura and rarely spent time with other children his age due to the pandemic. However he has developed heartwarming social skills and friendships due to the kindness and empathy Laura models. The food provided is varied, healthy and intriguing for the children and she never puts pressure on my son to eat if he’s feeling unsure about something new. My child has quickly become part of her extended munchkin family and I couldn’t be more grateful.”
“ Finding Laura has to be one of the best things about moving to Somerset She goes above and beyond what we would have expected any childminder to do. She continuously think of interesting and exciting things for Willow to do - sensory play, crafts, learning etc. - many of which are things we would not have imagined doing as parents. She has spent time at the end of her day made a learning book for Willow where she has documented all the different developmental stages Willow has been going through with pictures, and she sends us pictures each day to show us what Willow has been doing. She keeps us updated on what willow has eaten, how she is feeling and is genuinely interested in her development. She was also really helpful at settling in and talked us through the process, making us feel comfortable and at ease to leave Willow in someone else’s house for the first time. She has helped us a lot being so flexible with allowing us to move days around due to changing work commitments which I know many other childminders wouldn’t do. I feel very relaxed leaving Willow with Laura as I trust her implicitly, and I have recommended her to many of my friends with children. We’ve already pushed nursery back twice because we want to keep Willow with Laura as long as possible. Thank you Laura you are a total godsend. Lucy & Tom”

“I’ve been meaning to write this review for a while but worried I wouldn’t do Laura justice! I honestly don’t know what we’d do without Laura, she is extremely passionate, kind, honest, creative, and a true professional at what she does.
With most of my son’s (2.5 year old) life spent with me in lock down I was understandably nervous about leaving him with someone else, Laura picked up on this and supported me and My son hugely through the process. My son adores Laura and the time he spends at her setting, he even asks if he can go on his at home days! Laura comes up with brilliant activities and works very organically with the children’s changing interests. She's very perceptive and we get lots of feed back about what happen each day with lots of pictures. There is a big focus on out door play which my son loves. They also go out for little nature adventures around beautiful village of Mells. I can’t rate Laura highly enough!”

“My 19 month old daughter has been going to Laura’s for 3 months now, and I am beyond pleased and grateful that we found her. I love that Laura sends daily picture updates and every time I am so happy to see all the different and creative activities they get up too. The time, effort and thought that goes into everyday is apparent, with not only the activities but the surroundings and the healthy food for the children to eat. Laura’s is the first childcare environment that Evie had been in and I was so pleased with the slow and steady approach to the settling in period. It is very reassuring to know that Evie is with someone so caring and attentive as Laura and is clear that Evie is very happy and absolutely loves going.”

"Laura is an exceptional childminder! She has cared for both my 2yr old and 5yr old and they couldn't be happier being with her. I love that she does and creates things with them that I never would manage to do myself with my girls. I know she puts an enormous amount of thought and care in for my girls. She has always done her best to be flexible when she can, which I have been very grateful for. I couldn't recommend her highly enough!"

“We couldn’t have be more thrilled with Laura and the Muddy Munchkins setting. Laura’s approach to young minds and their education at these tender ages is not only beautifully thought out but seems to come so naturally to her when with our children. Laura will go out of her way to create a warm, welcoming and above all interesting space for children. There are so many areas of interest across the setting that appeal to each individual child, these areas also encourage them to explore together and problem solve. We were particularly impressed with how Laura will create such simple activities that teach our children key fine motor control skills, not to mention the garden which is also full of exciting experiences and senses - a favourite of our sons is the tasting garden and water play. Muddy Munchkins is a fabulous safe space full of care and connection, we couldn’t be happier to send our child to Laura and would recommend this setting to many. “

“I can't rate Laura highly enough! My girls have only been going to Laura's for a few weeks and they absolutely love it! My eldest can't wait to get out of the car and knock on her blue door. She has such a lovely, warm, and kind personality that immediately put my 2 at ease. She has really got to know the girls individual personalities, likes/dislikes and they really appreciate the effort Laura makes to set up activities with this in mind. As a parent, Laura regularly updates me throughout the day which really puts my mind at rest. I just wish I'd found her sooner!”
